What is Intersectionality?

Intersectionality is a term first conceived by Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw in 1989. Addressing the multi-faceted and interconnecting systems of inequality in society, intersectionality is concerned  "with the fact that many of our social justice problems, like racism & sexism, are often overlapping, creating multiple levels of social injustice." -@kimberlecrenshaw
